Youth for Peace: the Fight for Gender Equality in Kyrgyzstan

In the village of Andarak in Kyrgyzstan, many women are limited to decide about their own lives. Often they are expected to sit at home and not continue with education. Dilnoza saw this differently and is fighting for a change in her community.

Meet Dilnoza. She is one of the participants in our project ‘Cameras in Hands’, which aims at empowering youth in Kyrgyzstan. In this video she explains the difficulties young girls in her village face. They are expected to sit at home and not to continue with education and attend university. Dilnoza wants to decide about her own life and thinks education is crucial. After participating in the project, she wants to study abroad to bring the best practices back home and to make change in her village and country.
