GPPAC Welcomes New Sida Partnership
In 2018, thanks to a recent and close partnership with Sida, GPPAC will achieve bigger and deeper results globally and regionally. GPPAC will be able to focus on strengthening its global and regional networks, to shed more light on the impact of conflict prevention and ensure that local voices of civil society actors are heard in international arenas and in turn, have an impact locally.
GPPAC's Strategic Plan 2016-2020 aligns with the Swedish Government's strategy on Sustaining Peace 2017-2022 which aims one the one hand to strengthen global capabilities in the prevention of armed conflict, peace and state-building processes and human security and on the other, to support at the national and local level at defining points in the prevention of armed conflict and in peace and state-building processes, including in forgotten and protracted conflicts.
This year is even more important for GPPAC to work closely with both Sida and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs towards their membership in the UN Security Council. GPPAC is grateful for another year of partnership and looks forward to working together on advancing human security, local ownership and civil society inclusion with both actors!
