Zahid Mövlazadä
Zahid Mövlazadä brings over 25 years of experience in preventive diplomacy, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and governance across multilateral and civil society settings.
Prior to joining the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict as Executive Director, Zahid held senior leadership positions within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. Most recently, he served as Deputy Head of Mission of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing strategic direction to one of the OSCE’s largest field operations. Earlier, he worked with successive OSCE High Commissioners on National Minorities as Head of Section, Director ad interim, and Senior Adviser, advancing preventive diplomacy, contributing to early warning, and advising on high-level political engagement across the OSCE area, including Ukraine, Russia, and the Western Balkans.
Earlier in his career, Zahid worked with GPPAC, supporting regional networks in Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia, Western Balkans, Middle East and North Africa, and facilitating policy-focused exchange and joint conflict-prevention initiatives across the global network. His earlier professional engagements include Peacebuilding UK, International Alert, and Relief International, where he designed and supported dialogue, mediation, peacebuilding, and humanitarian programs in conflict-affected contexts.
