Fábio Ferreira Dias dos Santos

Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) Officer

As a Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) Officer at GPPAC, Fábio is passionate about engaging with peacebuilders to turn experiences into learning and learning into action. He works across the network to strengthen monitoring systems, support evidence-based decision-making, and facilitate reflection on what contributes to effective conflict prevention and peacebuilding.

Originally from Brazil and currently based in the Netherlands, he brings a background that combines analytical thinking with a strong commitment to people-centred approaches. In the past, Fábio worked with grassroots community organisations in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, the UN in Brazil and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.

At GPPAC, he supports colleagues and members in improving planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning processes, ensuring that data collection goes beyond accountability requirements and contributes to organisational learning, advocacy, and strategic decision-making. He enjoys developing tools and approaches that help capture complex changes in peacebuilding and strengthen collaboration across diverse contexts and regions.

Beyond his professional interests, he enjoys sports, particularly football, life outdoors, arts, music, books, films, series and cooking, especially in the company of my family and friends.

Why Fabio works at GPPAC...

Because sustainable peace can only be built together. GPPAC's network brings together local peacebuilders from around the world, creating opportunities to learn from diverse experiences and strengthen collective efforts toward conflict prevention.
