Darynell Rodriguez Torres

Darynell Rodriguez Torres is the Executive Director of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict, GPPAC. He is a Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding specialist with broad experience conducting political risk assessments, conflict analyses and dialogue processes. He has been an International affairs/policy adviser in a variety of projects at the interface of politics, public policy, business and the media. 
Darynell has participated in the development of various dialogue initiatives and multi-stakeholder processes aimed at enhancing collaboration among the UN, Regional Organisations, national governments, civil society and other actors, for the design of effective conflict prevention policies and programmes. Previous to his appointment as GPPAC' Director, he led the organisation's policy and advocacy programme. He has also worked as adviser of the President of the Colombian Senate, in the Secretary General's office of the Secretariat for Ibero-American Cooperation (currently SEGIB) and as political risk analyst and public policy consultant for European public affairs firms.
Darynell's academic background includes a BA in Political Science and International Studies from West Virginia University, a Masters in Applied Political Studies by FIIAPP, a specialist degree in Communications and Political Management from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Masters in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
