Peace Education Webinars: Building Capacity from a Local to Global Level

We are happy to announce that the first series of peace education webinars conducted by experts from GPPAC's Peace Education Working Group will start this month! Our peace education experts will share their decades of experience integrating peace education into formal (schools, colleges and universities) and informal (community) education structures. Through these monthly webinars, our experts aim to assist civil society organisations, governments and donors as they develop and implement peace education regionally and country-wide.

The Peace Corner Podcast

There's excitement in the soundwaves at GPPAC, as we launched our first-ever podcast series, The Peace Corner. The intern-driven initiative started as a conversation at lunch. We, the interns, enjoyed discussing what we would ask the peacebuilders who constitute the GPPAC global network should the opportunity arise. And so, The Peace Corner was born.

With each pod, we will be talking to a different peacebuilder, working in a different region, telling a different story. By offering unique perspectives on a spectrum of issues, The Peace Corner hopes to engage, challenge, and open your ears to the many courageous voices making peace possible.

Annual Report 2017: Making Prevention Possible

Our 2017 Annual Report is now online! In 2017, together with our members, we worked hard to prevent violent conflict and foster peace in our communities as our members face the severe onset of climate change and associated humanitarian crises. The highlights include our work in Colombia, where we worked on an intergenerational dialogue for peace, Northeast Asia, where we facilitate a civil society dialogue for peace and stability, and our continued work on peace education.

Animation: Making Conflict Prevention Possible

The past years have shown a drastic increase in the number of violent conflicts worldwide. As a result, many thousands have died and many more had to flee their homes. The solution is not in reacting to violent conflicts when they appear. We need to shift our focus from reacting to violent conflicts to the longer-term focus of prevention. In this animation we explain what conflict prevention is, why it is important and what GPPAC is doing for sustainable peace worldwide.
