Training and Capacity Building Coordinator

Gabriëlla Vogelaar is Training and Capacity Building Coordinator and the Regional Coordinator for Europe at GPPAC. She coordinates the development of capacity building frameworks with GPPAC members, oversees GPPAC´s training portfolio, and aims to enhance our collaborations with other training providers. She coordinates the 'Prevention Up Front' alliance with WFM-IGP, which is a Strategic Partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on enhancing the advocacy capacities of CSOs.  Gabriella leads GPPAC's "Improving Practice" Working Group, and is the regional coordinator for GPPAC Europe, seeking to strengthen collaboration among partners in Europe. Previously she was the Project Coordinator of "WOSCAP", Whole of Society Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding, an EU funded Horizon 2020 project. Gabriella has led research on Security Sector Reform and civil-military synergies in the EU context. She has six years of experience working in the field of conflict prevention and peacebuilding, on topics such as human security, the comprehensive approach, civil-military cooperation and Mali. Gabriella has published two books as a lead editor and co-author, including Empowerment & Protection – Stories of Human Security (2014). She holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from Utrecht University (2009), and a Bachelor in Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Utrecht with a focus on politics, international law and history. She speaks five languages.
