Seminar in DPRK: Dialogue & Mediation for peace in Northeast Asia

In 2015, GPPAC members, experts on dialogue and mediation, convened in Pyongyang, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, for a seminar co-organised by the Korean National Peace Committee, Peace Boat and GPPAC Global Secretariat. In Pyongyang, GPPAC members shared and examined specific examples of dialogue and mediation in Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Latin America and the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and other contexts. GPPAC members and seminar participants also discussed how dialogue can be used a tool in the broader Northeast Asian context, and on the Korean peninsula specifically. The meeting constitutes a follow-up to an exchange visit of the Korean National Peace Committee to the office of the Global Secretariat of GPPAC in 2014. The seminar also served as the first public presentation of Creating Spaces for Dialogue: A Role for Civil Society.
