Global
Friedrich Ebert Stiftung
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung was founded
as a political legacy of Germany’s first elected president. As the foundation
is sharpening its profile in the field of conflict prevention and transformation,
it involves activities on the role of the media in crisis situations and the
development of new concepts and tools directed to these efforts. The media
programmes of the FES are part of the work of the two international divisions:
the Division for International Cooperation and the Division for International
Dialogue. In addition, the foundation offers post-graduate courses for journalists
from Germany and abroad (the so-called Academy of Journalism) with the aim
of giving them a broader understanding of mechanisms and subjects of international
politics.
